Xbox 360 Repair Manual - The Permanent Fix for 3 Red Light Errors
There are many gaming consoles available but one of the most popular is the Xbox 360 by Microsoft. The Xbox was the first videogame console to be launched by Microsoft and since its introduction it has undergone several technological developments. The Xbox 360 was the second Xbox model, introduced in 2005, and it has lots more features than the original model. Unfortunately since its introduction lots of users have experienced problems with the console's hardware. Some of the most commonplace problems are the 3-red light error and overheating.
The 3-red light error refers to three flashing red lights in the power ring when an error occurs. They are essentially a signal of an issue or a problem. When an error occurs the lights around the power button change from green to red, and they are a warning sign. They are now known as the “Red Rings of Death”!
There a couple of reasons casuing the red light error but one of the most common is overheating. This occurs when the heat sinks are not able to properly cool the hot air created near the processor, in turn causing the processor to fail. Overheating can be due to numerous factors. It can be casued by an increase in power consumption by the intercooler that makes the motherboard conduct more current through its circuit, or it could be caused by bad chip components in the motherboard.
Overheating can cause the GUI to fail, which then causes the 3-red light error. As well as the three red lights round the power button an error message might show up on the screen. The error message will probably show up as E74 but it could also be a different error message.
There are some measures you can take to prevent the red light error from occurring in the first place. One of them is to ensure there is enough air getting to the motherboard to keep it cool, so it won't overheat. If you can keep the temperature constant for a long period you shouldn't get the error.
If you are unlucky enough to experience the 3-red light error there are a number of ways you can fix it. You can send your console off to Microsoft if you want to wait weeks for it to be returned to you. Or you can repair it yourself and save a lot of time and expense.

You do not even need any special tools to repair your console, just a set of screwdrivers and a repair manual with a video that you can download.
