Grip Midsize
Audi A4 Plymouth
Audi introduced the A4 in 1994, a midsized executive saloon competing with the likes of the BMW 3 series and Mercedes C Class. The very first A4 was the successor of the Audi 80, after four generations of the 80 the A4 had a lot to live up to.
The current generation of the A4 went in sale in 2008; it is larger than its predecessor which means it has the best in class legroom and boot space. The Audi A4 in Plymouth is available with a magnitude of engines options, from a 1.8 TFSI petrol to a 3.0 TDI diesel with a couple of 2.0 litre petrol and diesels.
An early favourite is the 1.8 petrol followed closely by the 134bhp 2.0 litre diesel, the 3.0 litre V6 diesel and the 3.2 V6 diesel come with Audi's Quattro 4 wheel drive system making them quite popular too.
Being an executive saloon and competing against the BMW 3 series the A4 had to deliver when it comes to drivability and ride comfort, and it does both of these excellently. The A4 is great to drive with balanced handling and lots of grip. Ride comfort is class leading too; it handles potholes as well as large bumps very well.
The 1.8 TFSI costs £21,735, a very competitive price for an entry level executive saloon, the 2.0 diesel starts at £24,610 and the S4 with its 3.0 V6 costs £36,330.
