FHS Crew was established as a club sport in 1998.  John Bruggink, a FHS Junior, was the driving force.  John recruited students and convinced their parents and the school administration about the merit and viability of the program.  The crew program would not have been possible without the support and guiding hand of John Lytle, our volunteer coach from 1998 through 2001.  John has freely given of his time to make crew a reality at Fairfax.

We are in debt to the many schools that freely gave advice, moral support, and their equipment our first few years of existence, including Thomas Jefferson and Robinson High Schools.  We also thank the many donors and supporters who gave financial support to our fledgling club; we are especially grateful to the Elks Club.

Last but not least, we salute all of the founding members of FHS Crew Program.
