The growth and success of the Fairfax HS Crew Club depends greatly on the success of our fundraising activities.  Fundraisers are necessary to supplement dues in order to meet yearly expenses inherent to the operation of crew activities.  Any funds raised beyond budgeted expenses provide the means to purchase new or replacement equipment.  To accomplish this, full participation of all the rowers and their parents is necessary.  In order to purchase new equipment for the year, funds must be available in the fall to insure delivery of equipment for use in spring events.

Ideas for fundraisers are welcome. Financially successful fundraisers will result in fewer fundraising requirements.  Contact any member of the Ways & Means Committee with suggestions.

 
Car Washes are held throughout the year with dates and locations to be announced at a later time. If there is inclement weather, the car wash will be cancelled.  

 

 

 

Row-a-thons are scheduled in the Spring.  Rowers sign up sponsors who pledge a certain amount of money for each minute rowed on an Erg machine.  Minimum requirement is for $50 raised from sponsors for each rower.

 

 

  Tag Days Tag Days consists of crew team canvassing door-to-door the Fairfax community to solicit contributions for Fairfax Crew.  Tag days are supervised by adult volunteers.

When going door-to-door, all teams will introduce themselves as follows: "Hi. We are from Fairfax HS Crew and we are canvassing your neighborhood for contributions for our scholastic rowing program. Any contribution you can make would be very appreciated."

We will accept cash or checks made out to the Fairfax High School Crew Booster Club.  Answer all questions politely. If you are asked how the contributions will be used, you may say that they will defray the cost of  the Fairfax HS Crew Program. Inform your adult supervisor of any problems. Do not react negatively to anyone who does not receive your request positively or in a polite manner. 

Do NOT enter anyone’s home under any circumstances. If invited, politely decline.
